Colchester and Tendring Children's Centres support families through the early years of having a child and we have lots of free groups and activities throughout the week for parents, carers and children.
For families with babies we offer support and an opportunity to meet other parents. Baby Beginnings groups run weekly for mums and babies up to when they are crawling - the group is breastfeeding friendly and facilitated by a member of the Children's Centre team who is trained in breastfeeding support. Baby Clinics are run by Health Visitors and at some centres run alongside a drop in session giving the chance to chat to other parents. We also offer short courses in Baby Massage.
PEEP (Peers Early Education Partnership) are fun, informal courses where parents can support each other and take part in play, singing and story time with their children. PEEP courses are offered at different stages in a child's development. It is never easy being a parent and if you need to talk to someone our local centres offer information and support to all families - so give them a call or drop in. Where there is an identified need our Family Support Workers can also provide short term 1:1 support for families in the home.
Unless otherwise shown the age range for children for these activities is from birth to 5 years.

A new contract from 1st April 2017 sees Barnardos working with Virgin Care to provide child care services across Essex. More details of these services will be available in due course.
