Bookable Courses

In addition to the drop-in sessions at our centres, we have a wide range of bookable courses and sessions.

We have antenatal clinics at many of our centres, and antental parenting groups. We also run 5-week 'The Baby's Coming' antenatal courses, in partnership with midwives.

Our 'Baby Massage' courses help you learn massage techniques and bond with your baby in a calm and relaxed environment. Courses run throughout the year at various centres. There's even one for dads! And we have a Baby Yoga course!

The 10-week 'Brighter Futures' course is for lone parents to gain skills needed to prepare for returning to work.

The 8-week 'Chatterpillars' course supports you with your child's speech and development through fun and interactive activities.

'Story Explorers' and our 'Bookstart Group' are fun 5-week courses to explore stories and how they support your child's development.

You can spend a few weeks on our 'Confident Cooking' course, which explores healthy eating topics. And for those of you with babies we have courses on Introducing Solid Foods.

We have parenting programmes for adoptive parents.

There is a 5-week 'First Aid' course covering paediatric first aid.

We have a number of extended parenting courses, including 'Incredible Years' courses which use the successful 'Webster Stratton' approach to help with baby parenting.

For toddlers we have courses on 'Managing Behaviour' (helping you to understand the best way of dealing with your child's anger), and 'Play and Talk' (to develop speech and language skills).

'Open Arms' is a post natal treatment group for mums with depression and anxiety.

To find out what courses and sessions are available near to you, contact your nearest Childrens Centre for a chat.
